THE CARTNERS FIELD GUIDE

Golf tournament pairings, teams and tee sheets

Put the right golfers, tee times and scoring responsibilities together. Start from your tournament’s player list, then prepare groups and any teams before the field is locked.

A playing group and a team do different jobs

Playing group
The golfers grouped together for a round, with the tee-time and scorer details used by the event.
Team
A named tournament team with selected eligible players and a captain. Creating a team does not switch the competition to a different scoring format.
Flight
A division within the event. Review flight assignments before creating teams or finalizing the field.

Prepare a round’s pairings

  1. Check the player list first.

Resolve registrations, approvals and withdrawals. Choose the correct round in tournament management.

  2. Arrange the playing groups.

Use the available pairings controls, then check each group and its planned tee time. Save the groups before updating their scorer or side assignments.

  3. Assign the scoring responsibility.

Select the appropriate scorer for each saved group. Review any side assignments the event uses before sharing scorecards.

  4. Review teams and print materials.

Open Manage teams when available. Add eligible players, choose a captain and review flight consistency. Prepare the event’s tee sheets and scorecards through its export tools.

Make changes before play. Group and team editing depends on organizer permissions and the event’s field status. Players already assigned to a team must be removed from that team before joining another; team members must share a flight or all have no flight.

Check the final version with your players

Tell golfers which group, tee time and scoring method to use. Recheck a saved change before issuing a replacement tee sheet. Export preparation can take time; wait for a completed document instead of assuming a requested download is ready.
