Before you get started

Can I run a golf tournament without asking everyone to install an app?

Yes. Organizers can manage a Cartners tournament in a web browser. Golfers use their Cartners account in the browser, or an organizer-issued guest scoring code for the scoring session assigned to them.

Which competition format can I create in Cartners?

The current tournament creation workflow uses individual gross stroke play. Named teams, captains, playing groups and flights organize the field; creating a team does not switch the event to scramble, match play or another scoring format.

Understand pairings and teams

When should I use Cartners instead of a spreadsheet?

A spreadsheet can hold a simple player list. Cartners is useful when you need registration, assigned organizer and scorer access, saved rounds and scorecards, and event results in one place. For an early estimate of tee times, start with the public planner before creating the event.

Plan a starting schedule without an account

Does creating a tournament reserve the golf course?

No. Arrange the course, tee times and any course fees directly with the course. Use those agreed details to set up the tournament and tell players where and when to meet.
